Halloween Preview

Today when I got home from a meeting there was a package. This was the package Maggie had been waiting for...her Halloween costume. I was getting worried because now that Snow White is out on DVD she has been telling me that is what she now wants to be. Luckily we opened the package and it was exactly what she had wanted. She is now back to being Tinkerbell crazed and I sure she will be wearing the costume as much as she can until the big day arrives. However, she explained to Andy and I that her costume is not yet complete. First she said she needs some shows, then a magic wand, and finally the wings that came with the costume "don't work" so she said that we need to find more pixie dust. We will just have to see about that....
Kiley's Baptism

This past weekend we headed back up to Lake Villa for Kiley's baptism. Kiley and Caitlin are Allyson's (Andy's oldest sister) little girls. Andy and I were so honored to have been asked to be Kiley's godparents. The baptism consisted of the usual ceremony followed by a big Voller family gathering. We had lunch at a VERY kid friendly Italian place, enjoyed some company and then headed home. Maggie loves ever chance she gets to play with her cousins Caitlin and Collin.

Kuiper's Farm

Yesterday Andy had a cross country meet in Peoria, Illinois, which in other words meant he was going to be gone for the majority of the day! My mom drove out to Plano and then Maggie, my mom, and myself headed out to Kuiper's Farm. There is so much to do there! They have an apple orchard, pumpkin patch, corn maze and other fun stuff for kids. We started with the apple orchard. They take you out on a hayride into the orchard and drop you off. Your ticket includes a bag to put your picked apples in. Maggie did all the picking for the three of us, she was a pro. We all enjoyed some apples as we picked too! We dropped off our bags at the car so we didn't have to lug them around and then Maggie played on the tractors while my mom got some of the apple cider donuts (they are delicious). We all enjoyed a little treat and then headed to the other side of the farm for lunch, bouncing, play time in the "corn" sandboxes, visiting the animals and climbing the tractor tire mountain. It was a great day to be outside!
Caitlin's Birthday

Last weekend we headed up to Lake Villa, Illinois for Caitlin's (our niece and Maggie's cousin) 4th birthday. It was a beautiful day and the cousins had a blast running around the backyard together. Maggie got a chance to hold Kylie the newest baby in the Voller family. Andy and I enjoyed have a chance to catch up with family and to just relax!
