November 2015

Clearly I am behind so I will just do a quick November update with pictures and then post what I have for December so far.

We enjoyed some fall fun in the leaves in early November...

 Malory conquered 11 months...

We celebrated Thanksgiving (no pictures of that but had so much fun and as always, so thankful to be around family)...then, of course, we enjoyed Friday night Pizza Night at the Larson's...

Happy Halloween

It was wet...really wet, but we managed to squeeze in trick-or-treating and actually stayed pretty dry. It was a busy morning in the Voller household.  Andy's girls had their sectional race, Molly had gymnastics and Maggie had her first basketball game.  It also poured for nearly 12 hours straight which made for a pretty miserable morning.  To help pass the time we carved pumpkins while Malory took her afternoon nap.

The girls had been filled with anticipation all day.  It was hard to wait but they did and were ready when it was FINALLY time to get ready.  Because the weather wasn't great we dressed up Malory but she stayed in for the evening.  Shay and Derrick came over with the girls and my parents joined in the fun as well.

There was a little window where it actually wasn't raining so we put on our layers and they were off.  We made it all the way down to Chrissy and Dave's before Molly and Grace were ready to head back.  I kept going with Maggie and Lucas and Chrissy rejoined us after dropping off Layla.  We were in by 6, warmed up with chili and a fire and then relaxed for the rest of the evening!
Here they all are in the bee costume.

Fraidycat 5K and Meow Mile

This past weekend Maggie and Molly joined their two best buddies, Lucas and Layla, to run in a local race.  The fun thing about this race is you get to wear your Halloween costume! Molly and Layla watched Lucas and Maggie run the mile last year so when it was time to sign up this year they wanted to be part of the action.  I signed Molly up for the "Meow Mile."  Lucas and Maggie wanted to give the 5k a try this year.  Since the little ladies needed some supervision Chrissy and I ran behind them and then with them and then I found myself dragging Molly along for a little bit.  She smiled and cried and was VERY excited for the ribbon at the end and ran her mile in just about 11 minutes.  Andy and Dave took on the same roll with the big kids and ran along behind them for the 5k.  They did great!  Maggie finished in under 30 minutes.

Pumpkin Patch

We headed over to Keller's this weekend to pick up pumpkins.  We managed to make it there with the whole family.  The big girls were more concerned about getting more donuts so for the first time in a few years we actually opted to select pumpkins from the prepicked patch.  There were plenty there and we had pumpkins in just about five minutes.  This worked out for us this year and was probably the better option for Malory anyway!

Fall Soccer

Maggie and Molly both opted to do soccer this fall.  This year Maggie is with third and fourth graders all girls.  This has been better for her and she finally has the hang of the game.  She has scored a few goals, learned a lot, improved on her aggressiveness, and has had a lot of fun.  Molly has managed to have some fun herself!  She scored some goals too.  Her favorite part is always the snack!  My biggest challenge has been trying to be in two places at once with a sleeping baby, but it has pretty much worked out!!

Apple Picking at Keller's

This was going to be a family event, but then with the timing it ended up being better to just leave Malory at home to take her morning nap so Andy stayed behind and I took Maggie and Molly to the apple orchard at Keller's Farm in Oswego.  We have gone there the last few years because its much closer, family owned by a family we know, and has so much to do.  We opted for a bushel of apples.  We picked as many of the varieties as we could, ate a few along the way and it didn't take long before the basket was full and heavy, really heavy!  I got it back to the car, but we couldn't leave without donuts so we picked up a few of those too.  Once home I made a huge batch of applesauce and then took some apples to my mom and she made us a delicious apple crisp.  Believe it or not, even though its been weeks we still have a few lingering apples.  Guess I will have to get to work!

Malory 9 and 10 months

I logged in to view my blog and realized I haven't done anything since school started.  It is challenging to find spare pockets of time as a working mother of three as I know many of my friends can relate just as working moms.  When I do find those spare moments I usually end up devoting them to something other than this which is why I am months behind!  I will have to rewind to make sure I cover Malory's accomplishments of the last two months.  Just after school started she started to crawl...and once she could she was on the move!!  She now pulls herself up and makes her way around the furniture.  She has two teeth that you can see and the two on the top have just started to finally make an appearance.  She is very mellow and goes with the flow for just about anything!  She loves to eat and has eaten anything we have given her.  She has gotten really good at coordinating to get small pieces of food into her mouth as long as she doesn't squash it on the way there most of it actually makes it in!  Maggie and Molly love her (and her toys).
